Facilities Steering Forum September 2011   Dear Community Members:   Thank you for visiting our website.  As a reminder, our Facilities Steering Forum meets on the first Wednesday every month from 5:00 – 6:30.  These meetings are held at District Office and all community members are welcome to attend.   Summer 2011 included the successful completion of the Haviland Middle School Bus Loop, the replacement of the bridge at North Park Elementary, the installation of freezer and refrigerator units, and the continuation of floor and ceiling tile replacement projects in our schools.  Maintaining our facilities is an investment in our future, addresses safety concerns, and in many cases results in a cost savings in energy efficiency and damage control.   On December 6, 2011 a referendum was presented to the community for a public vote on upgrades to district boilers and the athletic facilities at FDR.  The district boiler upgrades were approved.  However, the athletic facilities proposition was narrowly defeated.   On January 26, 2012 the Board of Education passed a resolution to hold a revote for athletic facilities.   If you have any questions or would like to learn how to get more involved, please call or email.  We can be reached at 229 – 4005, or by emailing greer.fischer@hydeparkschools.org.   Educating students is our highest priority, and the ability to continue to do so in facilities that are safe, maintained, and appropriately upgraded is an investment in our future.   Sincerely,   Greer F.
