Recommended Supplies
A graphing calculator is highly recommended for any of the math courses offered at FDR. Students are expected to know how to use a graphing calculator and all its capabilities. Having their own personal calculator can help students become more familiar with them. I recommend the Texas Instruments brand (TI-Inspire or TI-84 are best; TI-86 is not allowed for use on NYS Regents examinations). In my classes, I require work to be done in pencil. So the more you have, the better! I recommend that students purchase a large 3-ring binder (1.5" width or more) to help keep them organized. Some students have also benefited from the following items: spiral notebook (for homework and/or notes), ruler, compass, pencil sharpener, pencil pouch for binder (to keep pencils and other small items like a compass in their binder at all times).
