Homework Information
Why is homework important? 1) Homework helps you practice new and review problems. By practicing them, you can determine if you know a topic well, or if you need to get extra help on it before a test. Sometimes you may feel you understand a topic in class, but you find out that you don't understand the problems when you try to do them on your own. 2) Test review sheets are homework that is given right before an exam. They are made up entirely of Regents questions, just like your test will be. By doing the test review sheet, you can see different ways questions are worded or presented that you may not have seen before. Doing and correcting test review sheets are an ideal way to study for an exam. 3) Completing homework on time is an easy way to boost your overall math grade. Remember that homework completed on time is worth up to 100%, late homework receives a maximum grade of 65%, and incomplete homework is a 0%. 4) If you are on the homework wall for the majority of the quarter, your lowest warm-up grade will be dropped from your average. This will ultimately result in a better overall math grade for the quarter.
