Department of Physical Education, Health and Athletics
Greetings and welcome to the Hyde Park CSD Department of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics. Our program is designed to give students the knowledge necessary to develop lifestyles that will lengthen and enhance the quality of their lives. We are proud of the quality of programs within our district. Our physical education and health program provide opportunities for students to gain current knowledge of physical fitness facts, healthful living practices, leisure time pursuits, stress management techniques, and to receive instruction in the skills necessary for successful participation in activities necessary for optimum health and physical efficiency. The Hyde Park School District supports over 55 teams at Haviland Middle School and F D Roosevelt High School, involving several hundred students each school year in interscholastic competition. Through the involvement of trained coaches, dedicated athletes, a supportive Board of Education, and a host of dynamic parent booster clubs, the students of Hyde Park have greatly benefited from the spirit and lessons of athletic competition. To be eligible to participate in school sports, students must be examined and approved by a school or private physician, return a signed parent permission slip, and abide by the policies and rules set forth by the athletic department. Academic eligibility requirements must be maintained. Athletic Sports Schedules, Cancellations and Directions through Orange-Ulster BOCES Interscholastic Athletics. Click here for the link.
