 Dear Parents and Guardians,

     Congratulations to all of our graduates!  Yes, this is it.  My wonderful fifth graders are off to middle school!  I can’t tell you how your children have touched my heart and will remain there forever.  I’m very proud of the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout the year.

     I’d like to thank you for your continued support and for bringing your children into the world.  I am so thankful to have been the teacher that helps to take them to the next level of their academic career.  I will certainly miss them.  However, I’m not far away.  They know how to reach me if they need anything at all, even if it’s for just a hug.

     The summer is certainly a time to relax and enjoy outdoor activities.  This is also the perfect time to write.   I’ve encouraged the children to begin a summer journal.  The best writing comes from our mind.  Some of the things they can write about are:

• Their daily activities
• Simply the nature around them
• At the end of the day, write down three things enjoyed that day (a reflection)

     Don’t forget to read, read, and read each day and practice those math facts too, especially division.

    I wish each of you a summer filled with all of your favorite things.  Have fun and stay safe together.
